Connecting with your breath

This is a short 4 minute mindfulness track to help you connect with your breath.

Find a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted and click play to enjoy a few moments of mindful awareness of your breath. If you find your mind wandering, that is completely natural since one of the favourite things that our minds love to do is chat. Acknowledge the thoughts using something like ‘Ah, there I go thinking again’ or even ‘Thank you so much mind for your commentary and input’ and try not to engage with the thoughts and run away with them. You might even speak back to your mind kindly and compassionately and ask it for some space.

You could do this by saying something like ‘Hey guys, thanks for all the input and commentary in there. I know there is so much to do right now and taking this time is hard because of all the things on our plate. The most helpful thing for me right now is to have a little bit of space so could I ask you all to take a step back and reach out again and tap me on the shoulder after the exercise is done. We can chat then’. You might need to do this a few times during the exercise as well.
